Scarlett had believed that they had come to terms with her refusal to follow the alpha's orders. How foolish could she have been not to see that they would follow their king's orders, no matter how difficult or how simple? 

"Do not even try to cause a stir. There is no human law or authority over the werewolf realm. I believe you are already aware of this." 

As Scarlett was leaving the waiting area, she did not respond when Mrs. Juliet shouted after her. The news of her sons' abduction had sapped all of her strength, and she was unsure of where it came from. She needed to go to a place where she would be by herself because talking to her son's captor in front of Mrs. Juliet would only make the teacher suspicious. She did not want to get involved in any of this, although she would have wanted to.
