Chapter 11
As daylight broke, Scarlett dressed and gathered everything she would need for the journey ahead. Though she had anticipated receiving the SMS from Alfred in a matter of minutes, it took several hours. She was unable to sleep, though, not with her sons in the care of strangers who would hurt them if given the chance. She did not go to sleep until she got the text.
Sheila stopped her as she stood up to leave, telling her it was too late. Her friend persuaded her that before she could help her sons, she had to be in good mental health. She heeded her advise and remained behind, sleeping a little during those hours, knowing that the day would be the longest she would likely encounter in a long time.
The only item Scarlett was bringing on this trip was her journey bag, which she packed with everything she thought she would need and carried on her back. "Thank you so much, Sheila." She was appreciative that she had planned ahead for her. "I am so grateful to the goddess
