Chapter 17
Leah folded he hands across her breast, as she walked up to Scarlett and said, "Ten minutes have passed since the scheduled time for your return to the quarantine. Have you thought of a reason for that?" She raised an eyebrow to inquire. Scarlett saw that the best way to respond to her was to be silent, but Leah was always thirsty for an answer; without it, she would thirst to death and would stop at nothing to obtain it, even if it meant being wicked to her.
"I had to take medications to relieve my body pains." She responded. Leah glanced at her, and her expression did not suggest that she believed her. She simply turned around and entered the quarantine building. Silently, Scarlett hoped Shawn would come back as soon as possible.
Like all the other days, it was a frenetic one with little time for breaks. She had been working for eight hours straight, with only a five-minute break during that time. She knew she would be able to count her ribs if this persisted for
