Chapter 103. Dark Legacy
“Chris I got a call—” She starts, not sure where she is going with this, but needs to say something to justify why she is sneaking into the house at 1 am like a drunken teenager.
“Save it, Lara. You are just going to lie again and I don't think my heart can take it. At least not now…not when my mother just died,” his shoulders quiver as waves of grief ripple through him, searing his heart. The one person that ever truly loved him, is gone. And he never even had the chance to say goodbye.
“What?” Lara clutches her chest in shock and pain. “ Ithought she was doing better,” she rushes to his side.
“Don’t act like you care, Lara.” He laments bitterly, shrugging away from her touch. A shot of agony hits her square in the chest.
