Chapter 102. Alpha’s Warning
Lara wants answers and she needs them now.
When is he going to start talking?
What were those things in the woods?
Why is she dodging bombs in cafeterias and jumping off cliffs?
She suddenly remembers the pocket knife she had shoved in her boots before leaving the house.
Aha!
She pulls it from where it is lodged, wincing as her bones groan in protest. The sharp edge glistens a scant inch away from Carter’s chest.
“Who the hell are you, and what the fuck is happening?
And you better start talking!” Her eyes flash in anger. She means business.
A brow lifts as Carter stares down at the tiny hand holding the little knife, deeply unimpressed. He calmly uses his index finger to move the sharp object away from himself.
“I…” He starts.
“In English, please! Plain English. Talk to me like I'm a preschooler, not that gibberish Wolf, bless his soul. He was rambling on about something in the cafe.”
