Alpha Marcus’s POV

“Where is my son?! He never goes out anywhere without telling me first!”

What is happening lately? I swear something is not working in my favor. Not only have I lost a couple of alliances with packs that I thought I had secured at the werewolf gathering, but something has happened between the time of the gathering and now. Even when I threaten them more, they aren’t budging.

Now, my son hasn’t been home for several days. What is going on?

With a growing anger, I glare at Caleb. However, for some reason, he doesn’t seem to be affected like usual. No. If anything, he almost seems happy—but why?

Caleb tries to keep the corner of his lip from curving upward as he replies, “I’m not sure. He just seemed to disappear, but he never said anything to me.”
