Chapter 62
Scarlett’s POV
“To Las Vegas,” I specified. “I don’t know what happened to him, but he said his goodbyes in a big way, leaving messages for everyone. And he wanted you to know that he liked you, that you were a good friend, and he appreciated being a part of William’s life.”
“Hey, I believe everything else except the last part.”
“Well, he didn’t say it exactly, but I know he meant it,” I rolled my eyes.
“Great, I’ll text him in a while. Can you leave me alone?”
“Sure, I was going to Olive’s room anyway.”
I can remember all the details of my life in Los Angeles. Sometimes, I like to lie down and think about everything I’ve experienced. Sometimes, I laugh by myself, and it works when you want to connect with yourself. I stop when my phone vibrates, and I open the message from Francis. My smile fades as I read it, my hands tremble, my lips suddenly feel dry, and all I can do is press my lips tightly together to keep from making a sound.
