Book 3: Where Is Anacá?

Eros's POV

Dad closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “Enriquez is mentally unstable. From birth, he has been suffering from several impulse control disorders. When he was young, he resorted to bullying and stealing. Then it was bullying and alcohol. With therapy, we got rid of his illnesses, but he started gambling. No amount of therapy could help him this time. We tried to get him off gambling, and he developed schizophrenia. In the last twenty years, it became worse, more so after he went bankrupt. He stopped his treatment, and now he’s usually lost in a world of hallucinations. Dad and I had taken care of him since the day he was born. I promised dad I would take care of him all my life. I couldn’t break my promise now, Eros.” 

I sighed, feeling distressed. “Will you take care of him even after knowing he has killed grandpa?” 

Dad sighed and shook his head. “He hasn’t killed Dad.” 

I gaped at him for a minute. “What are yo
