Chapter 12

Madison was so excited to see Jonathan after a very long time. She was ecstatic about being able to hug him again. He left the city for Seattle a week before Madison’s marriage to Nathan. Madison, of course, knew of Jonathan’s interest in her, but she didn’t view him in such light.

“Come in, come in,” her voice was filled with so much excitement.

“Hey Nathan, this is Jonathan, my childhood friend,” Madison introduced Jonathan to Nathan, although they had met before.

“So technically, we are namesakes, right?” Nathan said to the amusement of both Jonathan and Madison.

“Yes, technically, we are,” Jonathan replied in a friendly manner.

“Nice meeting you, Jonathan,” Nathan said, gesturing his hand for a handshake.

“Nice meeting you too, Mr. Westbrook,” Jonathan reciprocated the gesture, and they both shook hands.

“So you see, Maddie, you should call me Westbrook when this guy is around,” Nathan said in reference to how Jonathan had distinguished
