Chapter 30. Ezekiel’s Camp Training
For this night, they wouldn’t travel down to Namson’s mansion, and it surprised Rachel.
“What? Where are you going to take me?” It sounded like an accusation, that’s why Ezekiel chuckled in his seat as he looked outside of the forest. The silence was deafening, and Rachel couldn’t stand just looking at him, entranced by what was happening.
“I’m taking you to the camp. It’s unfair not taking you there.”
Rachel froze in her place. What was that? A compensation?
“How about today? Did King Namson know I wasn’t coming?”
Ezekiel turned, subsiding her worry by saying, “He sent a letter to me earlier. He said he didn’t need you today, as the house is empty. Everyone is out and working. So…”
