Chapter 41
Scarlett’s POV
I love it! It’s a double-edged combat dagger that looks pretty badass. In terms of close-range attacks, I’m sorted. He also selects a few grenades, and those catch my eye as well.
“Aren’t those shoes going to be too heavy for you to walk in?” I ask, automatically directing his attention to them, giving me the window to snag a few explosive balls. They go right into my jacket, and it’s big enough to blend in with the bulge. When he looks back up, I simply pretend to be trying out where to position my knife.
“You’re cute when you try to be badass.” His sliver eyes radiate his love for me. I feel like a high felony traitor, but it’s a good feeling. The rush of sneaking dangerous items, therefore, technically making me a criminal is nothing short of exhilarating.
I can’t wait to pull the pin and lob one of these off and see the look on his face.
“Well…shall we?” I make a harmless cute face, and he smiles and stretches his arm.
