Gage’s POV

My brain sparks in annoyance and I rub my temple with my fingers to ease the ache that’s slowly developing.

“Do you have any idea where he could be?” I ask the lady and she shrugs nonchalantly.

“Nah. One morning I came to work and he had vanished. Probably in another country or continent. All I know is that he’s far away from Valentine.”

“What do you mean? I thought his beef with him was already settled.”

“No one ever settles a beef with him and remain alive, especially money beefs. Zach owes a great deal of money to valentine. If he didn’t escape as early as he did, he’ll be dead by now.” She explains and a customer hollers for her to hurry with his drink.
