Chapter 38. Burns
Alice tried to pretend to be busy with her laptop, but the woman did not give the slightest glance towards Harry’s room, whose door was still tightly closed. Until finally, the door suddenly opened.
Harry appeared while holding his hand; the back of the man’s hand looked red. Harry, with a pained expression, walked over to Alice’s desk. The secretary looked calm in her seat, showing no curiosity as to why her boss had suddenly left the room in such a hurry.
Harry stood in front of the woman’s desk, frantically speaking to Alice, who had not once turned to him.
“Look, Alice! I hurt my hand! I accidentally spilled the coffee, and it hit my hand. The coffee is still hot, Alice; I just ordered it. You see, the kitchen assistant hasn’t even been here long enough to deliver the coffee. You can imagine how hot it is, Alice. It’s so hot, and it stings too. Alice, what do I do? If I leave it, it’ll blister!” Harry spoke frantically.
