Chapter 161. Everything Goes Down

Willow tells me that Lex and Ivy will be in the castle for the little party King Myenas is throwing. I stay close to the ballroom and am able to watch as the two appear and follow Igor into the ballroom. I wait by the open doors for one of them to come out, trying to act like I’m just doing my guard duties by standing by the wall. I’m not disappointed when I see Ivy slipping out of the ballroom.

The brunette looks around the hallway, confused and new to the environment. She doesn’t know where to go next, looking for a familiar face.

“Ivy!” I whisper and frantically wave at her to come closer and away from the ballroom doors. “Over here!” I look around to make sure no one else is paying any attention to me. There are a few guards further down the hallway, but they don't even look in my direction.

Ivy looks wary as she comes closer. “Is that you…?”

“It’s Rainer.” I cock my head toward another hallway. “Come with me.”

“How am
