Chapter 163. Incinerated
Rainer
I know that King Myenas might be upset with the news of Lydia’s death since he’s been using her as a bargaining chip with Kane. The fury he unleashed at the sight of Lydia’s unmoving body on the bed is a sight to behold. He has every servant and courtier within near distance running away in fear. The meager furniture in the room is tossed around when he realizes Lydia won’t awaken no matter how hard he shakes her or whatever else he does. I stand outside with a few other guards, watching.
The potion Ivy brewed is very effective. Even vampires with their superior senses can’t tell the difference between Lydia in her magical comatose state and a real dead body. The castle doctor, Morrison, is called, and he examines Lydia’s body before declaring that she must have died in her sleep. The blood loss from feedings overwhelms even a shifter’s healings when not given enough time to recuperate, he reminds the king.
“You’re saying this is my fault?”
