I slowly stepped out of the house, taking each step down the stairs and opening the front door very carefully… very slowly, so that I wouldn’t make any noise.
For a moment, after stepping outside, I considered whether I should use Lee’s bike to get to Tate’s house faster. I also wondered if I still remembered how to ride a bike, but I couldn’t recall the last time I had used one.
I walked slowly into the garage and tried pedaling for a few seconds. When the bike moved while I was on it and pedaling, I realized I could still ride it—I could still balance myself, so I decided to use it to go to Tate’s house.
As I was pedaling, I couldn’t help but think about the moments I had in my first and second lives with Jackson and Dylan.
