Chapter 36. My First Heartbreak

The next days had been busy for me because I was the student council secretary, and the school year was about to end. With that, there were many events we needed to organize, such as the closing party. There would be a program for the entire high school department, in addition to the parties held in each classroom. Fortunately, I was no longer a classroom officer, because if I were, I would be even more exhausted with all the responsibilities.
Thankfully, due to the numerous tasks, I was somewhat distracted from the stories and things Asher had told me. Because of what he said, I hadn’t been paying much attention to or talking to him. I wasn’t angry with him; I just didn’t want to be reminded of his stories, so I thought it best to avoid him.
Whenever he tried to talk to me, I always made an excuse to avoid him. I would go straight to my room, and if he came in, I pretended to be asleep. At school, I didn’t join Paige and Sarah for lunch, using the excus
