David, Matheus, and Alanna took their positions at the altar. From where Alanna stood, she could see the expression on Matheus’s mother’s face—she was giving Alanna a fierce glare. The bride appeared in the aisle seconds later, looking magnificent. Her mermaid-style dress accentuated all her magnificent curves. The wedding was beautiful. Alanna shed tears at a few moments, while Alexia and David radiated happiness.

At the reception, Matheus and Alanna were seated at the head table, at the invitation of the bride and groom themselves. They enjoyed themselves, even as curious gazes from the others surrounded them. After all, the wedding bands had been swapped, and no one knew if there had been a wedding.
