Chapter 10. The Breakup

Maddie stood at the door, trying to figure out what was going on. Was all of this in her mind? 

She blinked a couple of times but it seemed Jacob was really there, he was real. “What are…what are you doing here?” She asked as she stepped away so he could walk into the room.

He had an annoyed look on his face as he stepped into the room. When he was in, he adjusted his fancy jacket and ran his hand through his hair.

Maddie waited, she wanted to know what this was about. Was he here to take her back? Was he here to apologize for what he did to her and how he had been treating her?

Was he here to tell her that he wanted to mark her as his mate and was ready to start a life with her?

Maddie knew that it was pointless believing any of that because she knew it was never going to happen. 

“I’m sorry,” Jacob began. “What I did…what I did to you was awful. I shouldn’t have put my hands on you, no matter how angry I was, and I’m sorry.” He swallowed hard
