Chapter 14. The Rejection

Maddie walked through the crowd at a slow steady pace, she could no longer see Nate and she was grateful for that. 

She had lost him in the crowd but that was a good thing because that meant she could focus on finding a mate.

Her birthday was closing in on her with each passing day, and the thought of being told to leave the Omega House with nowhere to go sent a shiver down her spine.

But she had to stay hopeful. She continued walking and watched as girls her age got acquainted with guys who could possibly be their mates before the end of the night. 

A few guys stole glances at her but they looked like they had way too many to drink. She quickly walked past them and prayed that none of them would even dare to walk up to her.

Yeah, she was desperate for a mate and would accept literally anyone but that didn't mean she had to stoop lower than hell.
