Chapter 17. Under the Night Sky

Maddie chuckled without humor, her heart feeling heavy. The thought that she had her wolf was not as comforting as she thought it would be.

Maybe that was because she would have rather that she didn’t have a wolf or was maybe human or something.

That would have made way more sense. That would have felt way better than knowing that she definitely had a wolf but just could not shift.

So yeah, the thought of being broken just played in her head over and over.

“Hmm,” She mumbled in response, not really knowing what to say. But she did have plans to continue sharing about herself with Nate. 

For some reason, it felt like therapy. It was really helping her mind. 

“And let’s not forget that I’m almost eighteen, I will be next month so that means that I would have to leave the Omega House,” Maddie explained, smiling sadly as she played with her fingers.

The bed was soft and the cool wind from the open window felt soothing.
