Chapter 22. Meeting His Family

Maddie chuckled to herself, she could not believe the audacity of the guy. He was really in no position to be saying any of this.

She sat up and locked eyes with him. “Are you being for real right now, Jacob? Are you seriously threatening me?”

“You can see it in any way that you want, but I meant every word that came out of my mouth,” He said, and then he turned to walk away.

“Jacob?” Maddie called out for him. When he stopped in his tracks by the door and turned back towards her, she felt something snap in her. “You don’t want your mommy to know that you’re abusive?” She raised an eyebrow.

“You b*tch, what did you just say to me?” He marched towards her and she stood to her feet.

“What? You want to choke me again?” She challenged him, not knowing where all the courage was coming from. “The marks from your throat are still on my neck, we can show that to your mom and then maybe take the case to the police. There were witnesses too.”
