Chapter 203. Tables Turned

Alpha Nate nodded, still looking concerned. “Of course, Maddie. Do whatever you need to do. I just want you to be safe.” 

Maddie forced a reassuring smile and squeezed Nate’s hand before heading out. The rain had now subsided to a drizzle by the time she got back to her car. She started the engine her mind racing with thoughts about what lay ahead at the hospital. 

Once she was out of the compound, she glanced at the time on the dashboard and saw that it was almost midnight. It was really getting late and she badly needed sleep but knew that she had things to do before heading back to the villa. 

Driving through the wet streets, Maddie replayed the events of the day in her head. She could not believe she had managed to destroy evidence and still came out relatively unscathed. But the real challenge was just beginning. Elder Roy was who she needed to worry about, it was her main concern at the moment.
