Chapter 205. Sleep

Heading back to the villa, Maddie was so tired. She could feel the tiredness in her bones and her head was spinning with so many thoughts; a headache wrapped around it also, reminding her that she was not superwoman.

She may have saved the day, but she was only a mortal, she would still get the effects of everything that had happened.

The streets were quiet and almost empty. There were only a few people and cars out there. The windows were rolled up and the heater was on. It was still drizzling outside and the stars were hidden behind thin white clouds.

When Maddie arrived back at the villa, she parked the car and got down. She jogged to the front door and tried to open it, but it was locked. “What the heck?” She whispered under her breath.

She tried it again but it was the same result. It still would not open. She proceeded to approach the doorbell, ringing it a few times but she did not want to persist, not wanting to wake up Vanessa.
