“Um…” Maddie dragged, locking eyes with him and causing his heart to dance the salsa. “After school, you said?”
He nodded, swallowing as his nerves were all over the place. “Yeah, we could go to the beach and get something to eat. Maybe even watch the sunset or some corny sh*t. I don’t know.” He chuckled as he scratched behind his neck.
He watched a small smile grow on her lips before she asked, “Are you sure about this? You broke up with me, remember?”
“Technically, you did. At the house party,” He said jokingly, but from the look of hurt that appeared on her face, he knew that he should have not said that. It did not have the intended effect.
