Chapter 44. Meeting Her Wolf

When Maddie reached the trail that led to the forest, she took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. 

Her heart was beating fast because she had walked for a while. She was regretting why she didn’t bring a water bottle with her.

And was this the best decision; coming here by night? If truly she was not the one who attacked Elder Roy, then that meant that someone else did.

That would mean there was someone possibly out there who could hurt her too. Yeah, she knew how to shift but could barely control her wolf. She had no combat skills. So yeah, it would be basically useless to shift into her wolf if she ran into trouble.

She had not even talked to her wolf before, and neither did she know how to shift.

She began walking the trail, she was already there, so there was no use in turning back. She needed to know, she needed answers and this was the only way she knew how to get them.
