Chapter 97. Changes

Maddie adjusted herself in her seat. They were about to leave but now that this woman had stopped them, they had to attend to her. The omega could tell that Jacob was annoyed by the question and wanted to speak but she tried to jump in front of it before things got worse. 

“Hi, Susan,” Maddie replied. “This is Jacob, and he’s my friend. Are you married?” 

The woman nodded. “Yes, as a matter of fact, I am.” She looked proud of the fact but also intrigued as to where the omega was taking this. 

“That’s nice,” Maddie continued. “So I am guessing that you do have male friends, don’t you?” 

Susan sniffled dryly and forced a smile. “I guess so, I have quite a few.” 

“Then I think I’m allowed to have the same, don’t you think? Jacob is my friend and not because I’m mated to the Alpha, does that mean that I’m going to get rid of all of my friends now.” Maddie’s voice was firm and she was proud of it.
