A day had passed and Lucian hadn’t set his eyes on her. He hadn’t seen Cassian or Alpha Caden either. The palace was quiet, only the sounds of rebuilding rang through. There was an emptiness in him - an anxiety he couldn’t place.

All he wanted at that moment was to see Rhea. He didn’t care what he had to do and he set out to do so. He knew where to find his father, his war room and that was where he went. His heart pounded against his chest with fear.

What if something had happened to her? The tether that would have told him that was gone, he couldn’t feel her on the other side again so he wouldn’t be able to know. Now that this was happening, how would he?

When he reached his door, he waited a moment to see if there was anyone inside but it was quiet. He guessed his father was alone and pushed the doors open without even knowing. He wasn’t going to be courteous about it anymore.
