Chapter 14

The first letter Shane received from Joey was addressed to Mr. Theo Collins, and the contents made Shane smile, but they broke his heart at the same time. He was clearly a special kid, who was hurting a bit. Figuring out how to proceed considering what had happened between Katrina and Theo was the difficult part. He read the letter again. 

Dear Mr. Collins,

My name is Joey Thomas and you haven’t met me in person, but you kinda met me because you met my mom when she saved you from the car crash, and since I’m a part of her, you sort of also know me. 

Thank you for the jersey. It’s hanging above my bed now, and it’s my favorite thing in the world. Next to my slingshot and my skateboard because they are pretty awesome. Since you are a boy too, I think you can understand what I mean. 

I know you already gave me a lot and I don’t want to act spoiled because my mom says that’s what brats do, but I wanted to say
