Chapter 6
Katrina was still halfway dreaming when she realized her phone was ringing. She fumbled around in the dark until her hand grasped the vibrating disturbance. She decided against throwing the buzzing phone across the room and answered it.
“Hello?” she mumbled, her face still half buried in the pillow.
“Kat…”
Katrina couldn’t believe it was actually him. If it didn’t feel so good to hear his voice, she would be seriously pissed that he called and woke her up at the c**** of dawn.
“What time is it?” she asked, her voice scratchy and full of sleep.
“It’s six am. You should probably thank me,” he told her. “I woke up an hour ago, and I have been waiting to call you since then, but I let you sleep in.”
Katrina snorted. “I’m forever grateful,” she grumbled sarcastically.
She heard Theo laughing softly. “You really are quite the morning person, aren’t you?”
“What gave me away?” she grumbled, but she was smiling now.
