Chapter 12
Living with Tamara and Ana would have to be a temporary solution, Kat thought as she made her morning coffee in the somewhat cramped kitchen. As much as she appreciated her friends sharing their home with her and Joey, she needed her privacy and she missed her garden. It had only been a few days, but Kat felt like she was slowly going mad. Today she would drive by her house and see if the coast was clear yet.
A few hours later she found to her dismay that it was not. There were notes taped to her door, letters from magazines and when she drove down the gravel driveway, a news van was coming the other way. What a spectacle. After an old - not at all flattering - photograph appeared of her in the local newspaper, Joey had found out the news at school and had asked her why she hadn’t told him what happened.
