Chapter 7
Kat kept her phone off most of the week. It was easier than having to deal with hearing it ring, and then ignoring it. Instead, she treated herself to things that should make her feel better. The haircut. The manicure and pedicure. A facial. It didn’t work. The truth was that she really wanted to see Theo again, but she also knew it wasn’t right. It was a dead end. Nothing but heartbreak, and she had no interest in going through that.
On Saturday afternoon, after Joey had been picked up by his grandparents, Kat got busy getting herself ready for her date. Sadly, she wasn’t feeling it at all anymore, but Tam had set it up, and she wasn’t going to cancel last minute, making her friend look bad.
