Chapter 28
Sky’s POV
I sprint with lightning speed and unyielding force. The rain pours down from the sky, and I can hear the pitter-patter as it hits the pavement and bounces back up. The only thing that matters to me is the experience of running through the trees. I pause for a second to howl out of pure pleasure before running at full speed again. I reach the clearing in no time and walk carefully to the edge of the water.
Although the small pool has only flooded to a small extent, the sand that encloses it is sopping and darkened. I start to submerge as soon as I touch it with my paw. I quickly retreat from the sand and find a tree nearby to lie under.
I positioned myself beneath the canopy, enduring the rainwater streaming from the leaves. Kyle comes to my mind involuntarily when I shut my eyes.
‘I can’t believe he kissed me.’
Blue growls. ‘He should not have done that. Our mate will not be happy that we kissed someone after shifting.’
