Chapter 15. Early Morning Drama
Fireworks, barbeque, and dancing were the highlights of the party for Lily. The smell of burnt confectionery and barbecue spices wafted through the air, making her stomach growl with anticipation. Soda and milkshakes were the perfect temptation to accompany the small party atmosphere tonight. Ah, Lily felt like getting drunk. Not drunk on alcohol but drunk on the sweet atmosphere that made her float.
"You only invite your employees?" asked Steve, who was still loyal to the grill and meat in his hand. He kept skewering the peppers and meat and raising them on the grill. Sandy, who was helping him, just nodded. She was also busy skewering the meat, but her eyes circulated throughout the garden looking for Lily.
"Lily looks happy," she said softly. Steve agreed with Sandy's words: Lily now looked happier than a few months ago. "She has changed a lot."
