Chapter 22. Finding an Address

"Your father put the letter in the bank?" Lily nodded. Steve frowned and then asked again. "Do you have the power of attorney? To prove that you are his heir."

Lily took out a signed letter that she believed belonged to Mr. Henry, her father. The letter was a little worn and dull, but the contents were still clearly legible. Lily showed the letter to Steve.

"I had this letter before my father's death. It was exactly one week before the accident. I had no idea that this letter meant so much and had been prepared by him." Lily's eyes glazed over as she remembered that day. Her father had come when she was crying over her broken marriage.

At that time, Ryan went back to see Lily after the filing of divorce papers addressed to him always failed. Apparently, her father knew of Ryan's intention to divorce Lily. He threw away the letter so that his daughter would not know about it.
