The next few days, I moved carefully.
I didn’t rush into anything reckless. I didn’t confront anyone. I didn’t even let my expression change when I saw Margaret at the office.
But I started digging.
Birth records were the first place I tried. Public registry searches. Old hospital archives. I pulled every thread I could think of without drawing attention to myself. If Jack wasn’t Drake’s biological son, there had to be a paper trail somewhere.
