Chapter 27. The Hint

Lacey admired the home décor and lavished interiors inspired by good architectural plans. It was a trending décor style.

“You built this place yourself?” she asked, staring in awe.

“Yes, I did,” Alex said. “I would have loved to give you a tour, but first things first. Come with me.”

He led the way to his inner chamber. Behind a gigantic bookshelf was a hidden door leading to a secret elevator.

“You’re already taking me on a tour, aren’t you?” Lacey glanced with curiosity.

“Not really,” he said, shaking in the head. He stepped into the elevator and gestured for Lacey.

Lacey stepped in, still curious. She glanced at him. “Then where are we going?” she asked.

“Wait until you see it yourself,” he said, pushing the activation bottom on the elevator.

“You’re welcome, Mr. Cole. What level do you wish to go?”
