Chapter 33. Twisted
Before he could get to Lacey, a powerful wind blast blasted him off his feet. The other two glanced at each other. Fear was written all over them as they saw a witch coming to Lacey’s rescue. They couldn’t help but flee the scene.
“How in the hell did they get in?” Lacey rolled her eyes at Ruby. The sigils were supposed to keep them away and not let them in.
“The wardens,” Ruby muttered in disbelief. She glanced around and continued, “Something is wrong.”
Lacey gnawed at her bottom lip. She approached the wolf knocked down with a backward kick, dragged him to his feet, and grasped him tightly. “How did you get in here, and who sent you?”
He gasped. “Screw you,” he squeezed out.
Lacey glared at him with hate. “No, screw you!”
Before she could execute what she had in mind, police officers rounded the scene with their guns pointed forward as they all yelled, “Down! Down! On the ground now!”
