Chapter 41. Finding Lacey

DESIGNATED GUEST QUARTERS

Lacey had regained consciousness a while ago. She was losing consciousness again. Her vision was blurred when she tried to look around. Lacey’s arms and feet were bound to a wooden chair with ropes in the center of the guest room. It wasn’t ordinary ropes but ropes soaked in wolfbane.

No werewolf had ever been able to fight through the toxic affliction of the wolfbane. It made them weak and burned their skin on contact, making their skin sound like a lump of sizzling meat. When injected into their system, it burned them up from within, even heating up their blood.

Lacey finally caught sight of Mr. Allen resting on a couch in the center of the guest room. “Why are you doing this?” she spoke under her breath.
