Chapter 39. Making Up
ALEX’S MANSION
Alex’s face was distorted with sadness. He had been trying to get hold of Lacey over the phone for days. Each time he tried her number, it went straight to voicemail.
“Not again!” he yelled out of frustration, smashing his cell phone into the wall. All he wanted was to explain to her what happened.
His sad moment was suddenly interrupted by a fisted knock. He raised his head toward the door, inviting the person in. The door opened with a creaking sound as Mr. Allen walked into the room. “Master Alex, your mother’s plane has landed.”
Alex glared at him. “Should I be dancing to the news?”
Mr. Allen smirked at the hint of Alex’s response. “I just wanted you to know so you wouldn’t make the mistake of inviting the wolf girl here.”
