Chapter 53. The Past (4)
Queen walked for hours in the forest, “I’m going round in circles, shit,” she cursed, passing the same tree stump again for the fourth time. Sweat dripped off her forehead, her sandals had a thick layer of mud stuck under them, with some that got in between her toes.
Her legs were already shaky, she had no choice but to rest. Queen looked around for a spot that wasn’t so muddy and wet, when she found it, she dropped James like a sack of rice on the ground, while she sat down quickly, stretching her legs. She massaged the back of her neck and her arms, everything felt sore.
She wondered where she’d find her older self. She replayed the words in her mind over and over again, but she could make no sense of it. Sighing, she wondered how William was faring and how Davies was holding up, it felt like she had spent three years here.
