Forcing the truth out of Iris is as close to pulling teeth as I’ll ever get.
While not the most frustrating person I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with, that trophy goes immediately to my mate. Iris certainly tempts me into losing it the second she admits to helping Ainsley leave NGU to head to Redmoon.
I suppose it’s my fault for trusting she’d come to me if the Moonstone heir were to ever approach her again or threaten her in any capacity. I’d neglected to realize she’d want to keep it from me due to not self-preservation entirely but to keep me from stopping her on whatever heroic endeavor she’d tasked herself with.
I love her, I truly do, but sometimes Ainsley makes me want to tear my hair out.
“What the hell do you mean she went to Redmoon?” I can barely get the words out.
My anger is palpable, I’m sure, given how wide Iris’s eyes get. “L-Like I said… that guy made a convincing argument. Kind of.”
