Chapter 28

I awoke early the next morning in Nocturne’s bed once again. I turned my head and saw that she was sleeping in bed next to me. I smiled to myself. I slowly got up, trying my hardest not to wake her. Once I was sitting up, I felt a throbbing sensation throughout my body. It was strange but not overly painful. I got out of her bed and snuck out of her room and into my own bedroom.

 “My lord, you are awake.” I ran into Andrew in the corridor as I came to my quarters.

 “Yes. Can you tell me what happened?” I asked.

 “Oh, you appeared to have a bad reaction to Lady Nocturne using her magic to heal you. It seems you two do not have compatible magic.” Andrew explained.

 “I see. That would explain why I passed out.” I said out loud. Then I shook my head. “No matter. Can you help me get dressed? I also would like an update about the women we rescued.”
