Chapter 75

Kosma quickly left the estate after we returned from the gala. She was quite pleased with being able to leave the rather pointless function. Nocturne and I said our goodbyes to her before she left then headed to Nocturne’s bedroom.

“What a day.” I sighed as we made our way up the staircase.

“You had a lot of emotions today, that is for sure.” Nocturne said as she linked arms with me while we walked. “I am sure you would have had better control of yourself before you had your divine powers.”

“I wonder about that.” I told her. “Why do I suddenly have divine powers? Why did I not have these issues before?” I asked.

“Ishtar most likely put a seal on your powers so you could live among mortals. It would be unsafe for you to have lived among them otherwise.” She explained as we made our way through the hallway. I noticed the servants we passed looked at me with a concerned but also relieved expression. I am sure I scared them earlier, just as I had scared myself.
