Chapter 79

The next day, I felt like I was starting fresh with Nocturne. Our argument the night before was needed, and it ended up making our feelings stronger than ever before. Just like Kosma had said it would. I knew that we were not out of the woods yet because Nocturne was still struggling with her own self-esteem problems. We would not fix all of our problems in one night, but we could at least start.

“I suppose I should break the contract I have with Kosma about keeping the voided contract a secret from you.” Nocturne said as we enjoyed our afternoon tea in her office. She had given Shellia the day off to off to go and meet with Rosen about their efforts to handle the incoming refugees, so we were working together on some business items.

“I should thank her as well.” I added.

“Why?”

“She told me not to worry too much about why you were upset when we returned and that it would end up making our relationship stronger in the end once it was revealed.” I explained.
