Chapter 35
It all felt confusing to her and she couldn’t quite wrap her head around it.
It was so good, all of it. She didn’t think anything went wrong during the time they spent together for him to not want to reach out. She even started to wonder if Steve had gone and threatened him to stay away from her like he used to do with her male friends in the city, but she’d always scoff at the thought.
‘He couldn’t. I just know Cain scares him.’ She’d think, but still, It didn’t make sense.
“Pause it, I need to pee,” Carrie said, getting up.
Liana nodded absentmindedly. Carrie left the phone on the couch without thinking and left for her room.
In the bathroom, Carrie washed her hands after flushing, stopping to admire her pretty face in the mirror when she realized and froze where she stood.
Her eyes widened slightly. “Shit.” She rushed out but it was too late. Liana had the phone pressed to her ear and the call seemed like it was already going through.
