His voice was calm as he closed the distance completely and raised the gun, pressing the cold metal firmly against Jerry’s forehead.
Jerry froze.
His lips trembled uncontrollably, his breath hitching in his throat as sweat gathered almost instantly along his hairline. His eyes locked onto Cain’s, wide and glassy with fear.
For a second, the room went completely silent, then Cain pulled the gun away just slightly, enough to speak.
“Do you want to die now,” he asked evenly, “or would you rather do for us what Razor Wolves asked you to do for them?”
Jerry blinked rapidly, struggling to process the words through the panic. “I… I don’t understand,” he said, his voice shaking.
Cain didn’t take his eyes off him.
“You’re going back,” he said. “You’ll infiltrate Razor Wolves. You’ll get our key back, and you’ll bring it to me.”
