Chapter 64
Some days later, Liana was discharged from the hospital, but Cain wasn’t aware. He had sneaked in as usual, to see her, but when he walked into her room, she wasn’t there.
There was another patient in her bed. He got confused and looked back at the second bed in the room, the patient who had shared the room with her had also been discharged and now, a different patient sat there.
They both stared at him when they realized he wasn’t there to see either of them. He noticed how wary they became and sighed, walking back out.
He dialed Liana’s number on the way out but she didn’t answer so he just sighed before getting on his bike. He had checked the time and it was twenty seven minutes past five. He calculated that she should be at her apartment and drove there.
