Chapter 60
Night.
Vic and Jay stood just at the door one of the abandoned buildings in the old park, the night air heavy and still. Inside, the place smelled like rust and dust while they waited for Cain to return.
Alan and Keith were still tied to chairs at the center of the open floor, bruised, bloodied, but still holding onto that reckless kind of confidence that came with thinking they were untouchable while Jerry just stayed silent by the corner.
The low rumble of an engine cut through the silence before headlights swept briefly across the cracked walls. The bike came to a stop, and moments later, Cain stepped in through the wide entrance.
Jay and Vic followed him inside without a word. Cain walked straight to the table, dropping a leather strap lined with different knives and tools onto it with a dull thud. The metals clinked against themselves then he dropped the strap.
He turned to them, expression unreadable.
