Chapter 92
Cain’s eyes snapped open instantly and just like that, the softness vanished from him again. He pulled back slightly, letting her back on the floor and grabbing her hand tightly before cocking his gun again.
“We need to move.” He said and Liana nodded quickly.
He led her through the hallway carefully, keeping himself between her and every blind corner while the sounds of fighting echoed throughout the building.
They had almost reached the exit stairwell when another figure stepped into view. Vic. The gun in his hand was still warm from his last shot.
His face showed nothing when his eyes landed on Liana. No relief. No smile. No reaction at all. But he lowered the gun slightly and pointed down the hallway to the right.
“That way’s clear.” He advised.
